The International Art project "Origami Peace Tree" was created by the Levashov family, Larissa, Aleksandr and Anastasia, in the year 2000 in Russia to give people a little bit of happiness in getting in touch with beauty.
The main goal of this project is bringing the art of Origami to as many people as possible, participating in promoting World peace by means of the art and engaging people of all countries to be on friendly terms with each other.
The Origami Peace Tree Project
Origami Designs  hosted the Project & Festival in the United States in Pasadena, California in October of 2004.  The Festival Exhibition was  open to the public free for 15 days,  at Yoshino Japanese Antigues, lower level Gallery.
Text from the Peace Tree Project Website Below:
"World Origami Peace Tree Garden" is a worldwide campaigning movement that works to promote peace, international friendship, arts and education.

The project's idea is to hold international Origami Festivals twice a year (April and October) in different countries. These countries' organizations or individuals should take the responsiblity to organize their country own Origami Peace Tree together with the leaders of the OPTP

It is a wonderful way to bring the world together by collecting nice things made by men in different countries and showing them to many people on the Earth. We will be grateful for spreading the news about the Peace project among all the people

The true success of this project lies in the positive interaction between people on both the national and international bases.

We sincerely hope the World Origami Peace Trees Garden Project will reach the hearts of those who love Peace and Art and people from around the world will support this peaceful initiative.

Let's do our best for World Peace!"
