About the author:
Eleanor Coerr

Born and raised in Canada, Eleanor began her professional life as a newspaper reporter and editor of a column for children. She became an American citizen, married and engaged in newspaper work in the countries where her husband was assigned. For the past 20 years she has been involved with writing children's books and lecturing. Eleanor has visited many schools in the United States and abroad, where she has been a speaker at conferences dealing with childhood education. Thanks to the increasing popularity of Sadako and the Thousand Paper Cranes, Eleanor has appeared on television including Peter Jennings, ABC News, and Richard Thredkeld's CBS News.
